Belarg Vomitspew sat quietly, reviewing the plans in the remnents of
what was once his mind. They were to find the Humans, and they were to kill
them, spreading pestilence for their father, Nurgle. With the noise of
straining metal, the drop pod was released, accelerating at sickening speed
toward the surface of the small agricultural world. Indeed, had any of
Belarg's stomach remained, it would surely be in his mouth.

Colonel Redden was shaken from his half slumber by his Comm
specialist, Sgt. Matthews, "There coming, Sir, at least 5 pods."
Redden look at the sensor screen, still receiving a live feed from
one of the few remaining recognizance satellites still in orbit. The bottom
of the screen was counting down, "Landing pod ETA, 4 minutes, 6 seconds...."
"Get first company to their Alpha positions." The colonel said
tersely, "Driver, get this track to the command position on hill 216, on the
double!"
Reddens command Chimera lurched forward, making its way through the
defensive positions to a well camouflaged position on a hill overlooking the
shallow valley, where the 1st Company of the 12th Praetorian Guard would
make their initial stand.

Brother Marine Garrik looked up, seeing white streaks grow as the
arced across the sky. What could loosely be described as a smile crossed
his face. Soon many of his Brothers would join him, and then many of the
humans would die for their devotion of the pale ghost that they called their
emperor.
Garrik had been teleported on planet some hours before, and was now
crouching mere yards from one the Chimera class APC's, which had only
moments before nearly exposed his position. The small satellite dish that
had just deployed marked it as a command vehicle. He slid the lever
forward, knowing that the Eye of Horus that it bore would bring him the
powers of Chaos Undivided. His Las Cannon was at full charge. He leveled
it and fired into the side of the side of the vehicle. A searing beam of
blue-white light passed through the hull like so much paper, and an
explosion ripped through the hull.

Commissar Tretiak shook his head and dropped his Comm pack to the ground. A
quick glance behind him showed what he had feared, a single column of white
smoke coming from Hill 216, Reddens command position. He was now is sole
command of 1st Company. As the drop pods touched down less that a kilometer
away, he turned, facing the well concealed men of the First.
"Hear me well men," He shouted, raising his Power Fist above his head, "The
forces of Chaos are on us, and our faith shall be out shield. They shall go
no further."
End.
